Hi, my name is Simphiwe Dlamini and I go by teacher Simmi now. I am currently in Nanjing，teaching English to Grade Two learners at Nanjing Primary School and I love every second of it. I am from Durban, South Africa the rainbow nation and coming to China has always been a dream to me which recently came true. On August 2022 I met with Ann Jiang from MGT Service (MGTS) on LinkedIn and she has been holding my hand through my journey since then, believe me when I say none of this would have happened so smoothly without Ann’s amazing support and dedication to help me get to China.

Ann assisted me with the process of the paperwork from A-Z, from getting my documents authenticated to getting my work permit and getting my Z—Visa all the way across the country.

Travelling to China

Coming to China I flew via Shanghai which was a little tricky but with the help of Richie, Nick and Jason who fetched me from the Railway Station in Nanjing the whole journey became as smooth as butter. On my arrival they took me to a surprise welcome dinner and then to rest after my long flight. The next morning 7th of Feb they took me for a brief introduction at the school where I was introduced to the director of the English Teacher Group, a very lovely lady who has been taking care of me since, showing me around the city etc…, her name is Bonnie and I also got a tour around the beautiful school.

There after Jason and Nick took me to my apartment which is just +-5 minutes away from the school by foot which is awesome. The city is beautiful, clean and safe to walk around alone anytime if day which is important, I also live in a neighbourhood with plenty of convenient stores.

Sentiments About MGTS

All in all I have found MGTS to be a very professional and reliable agency with good agents who have good communication skills, it recruits for kindergartens and schools all over China.

My message to teachers wanting to teach English as a foreign language would be that “Do not hold back “ this is an experience of a lifetime, just be prepared to adapt and have fun .
